/So I have been hit with something. Felt horrible last night and went to the urgent care today. Bronchitis and sinus infection abound but negative flu, thank goodness.
We push ourselves so hard in life and run constantly and then we get slammed back down. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone for sure. It seems like getting sick makes us want our moms, makes us want to crawl in bed and just crash.
So I hope each of you is staying well and healthy! What probably made me sick was Nancy Pelosi!
I briefly shared on facebook my disdain for the women in white. I was a democrat for years, I know shocker but I have since become an independent. Watching those people with hatred and the need to have their agenda pursued and not that of the people they elected was sickening to my stomach.
I have been in OB/GYN for 28 years now. I have talked to women who have terminated pregnancies in the 1960s and women today that make that choice. I never judge I don’t give my opinion unless asked. This has been a very debated and personal choice for women and some women have dealt with the grief of their choice to this day and there are some who don’t acknowledge the choice at all, atleast for right now. I have told patients which ever path you chose will effect you for the rest of their lives and that is true. I have never encouraged a termination nor have made any woman feel she can’t find a safe place to talk. I can’t wrap my mind around late term abortions, I can’t justify in my mind that there is a reason for this on a full term pregnancy. And these are my opinions and I am happy to discuss my view point and listen to yours in a lively debate.
When the president mentioned the sanctity of life and disdain for late term abortions, those women looked incensed and like it was the worst thing he said. Abotion has always been a debate and signing that into law doesn’t rob a woman of a right. If a pregnant woman is killed that is murder against two–mother and child. But not murder of a viable infant when you do a late term abortion. I just don’t understand.. There are families that so desperately want a baby, but the adoption laws are difficult and make it hard for families to adopt in the states. So they go overseas and pay huge adoption fees. Children are children and all need love. I am not a physician, but I can’t see any reason to abort a full term infant. If baby or mother’s life is in jeopardy, deliver the baby. If there is a lethal anomaly, well that patient and her doctor decide from there. But the thing is if the baby had a lethal anomaly, well they would know before 36-40 weeks. I have seen women terminate early for a lethal anomaly and I have seen women deliver their child to have it pass on. It isn’t easy for them but they each chose a path that will follow them all their days.
In regards to immigration. The big picture is he is wanting to limit illegal immigration. You and I couldn’t go to another country and be accepted illegally. You have to go through customs/car search to get in and out of Mexico. I couldn’t go to another country and just stay. Immigrants have helped built and added to the fabric of America. Just enter legally. There have been representatives in the past who spoke of a wall and now the President is asking too much. Through all of this, can we as Americans not see this is politics and personal agendas of the people we have voted in office? These representatives have forgotten who they represent and they have a false sense of power and judgement. Watching democrats sit, watching Nancy Pelosi chewing the hell out of her lip and she couldn’t applaud for veterans bills, she looked like she was going to jump out of her skin when the man had been released from jail and trying to make his life right.
Probably the most very touching were the three men who fought on D day and then men who survived concentration camps. The lives they have lived and the atrocities and blessings they have seen. We so take for granted the freedoms we have blessed with because we all focus on the wrong goals. Our representatives are adding to the divide in our country and we are battling amongst ourselves instead of funding solutions. We have forgotten what our voice sounds like as we have people that act like bullies and idiots! My humble opinion and I am so willing to hear your feedback and respectful debate. That is how we grow, that is how we learn and appreciate and thrive.
The President isn’t a perfect man, but none of us are. He should stay off twitter. But he still holds the office of the President and that office should be respected. There are those that won’t agree with me. And that is a great thing about being an American. We can have different opinions, different thoughts and respectfully debate.
